2026/05/29

Athens, Greece, 22nd May, 2026 — Shenzhen CLOU Electronics, a member of Midea Group, announces the successful and timely delivery of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for the 8 MW / 22 MWh Mavrikas energy storage project in Trichonida, Aitoloakarnania, Greece, developed by AVIS Greece.

The project marks an important milestone in the collaboration between the two companies and reflects the emerging role of battery storage technologies in supporting renewable energy integration and lower cost for electricity in Greece.

As Greece continues to invest in energy storage infrastructure, projects such as Mavrikas help strengthen the electricity system and support the country’s energy transition objectives.

Mr. Vaggelis Atherinos, Chief Growth Officer of AVIS Greece stated: “We are pleased with the successful completion of this project stage in cooperation with CLOU, reflecting the value of strong partnerships and effective execution in supporting our strategic objectives.”

Ms. Carol Yu, General Manager of Europe Region, Overseas Energy Storage Business Center at CLOU – Midea Group, stated:

“We are pleased with the successful and timely delivery of the AVIS project and value the opportunity to support it with our battery storage technology and technical expertise.

CLOU’s BESS supply agreements in Greece now exceed 300 MWh in total. In addition to large-scale projects, we also see strong potential in the next phase of the Greek BESS market, where many smaller projects, typically between 2 MWh and 25 MWh, are expected to be connected to the DEDDIE / HEDNO distribution network.

CLOU has a good understanding of the needs of smaller investors and project owners. These customers often require not only reliable and cost-effective BESS technology, but also bankable project structures and financing solutions designed to reduce project risks and help smaller BESS projects reach implementation.”

CLOU continues to expand its presence in Greece by providing BESS solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the market.
